LA Trip Part 2! 8-14-22

Part 2… DISNEYLAND! The most magical place on Earth!

Our two days at Disneyland and California Adventure Park were so special. It brought back so many childhood memories and I loved it! I had never been to Disneyland before, but I have been to Disney World several times. Disneyland is much smaller and feels a lot more manageable, haha! We conquered the entire park in just one day with time to spare. It was great!

We all loved the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance ride. You really feel like you are in the middle of a Star Wars movie, it’s so cool! Some of my favorites will always be the classics; It’s a Small World, the Jungle Cruise, the Haunted Mansion, the Peter Pan ride, the Tea Cups, and Splash Mountain. On Splash Mountain, I sat in the front of the ride and that was definitely a mistake! I was soaked for the rest of the day, haha. I love any roller coasters so Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain were the best!

As always the electrical parade and fireworks are so Disney! We got spots for the parade super early and it was so worth it. I loved seeing the characters, all the electrical floats, and of course the fireworks show over Aurora’s castle. SO MUCH FUN!

Watching the younger kids experience all-things Disney brought me on the verge of tears. Because the princesses and the characters were my heroes as a kid, I loved getting to see kids that felt the same way I did. Disney will forever be one of my first loves.

California Adventure Park is the other park right across from Disneyland. It takes about another full day to cover the entire park. Some of my favorite things here were Mickey’s Fantasmic Show, Soarin’, The Little Mermaid ride, and the Incredicoaster. I don’t think I have ever been on a roller coaster as good as that one. I felt very safe, it was the perfect length, and the sound effects were amazing.

We did miss the World of Color, the nightly show in California Adventure Park, but it seems fabulous! If you are staying the night I would make sure you get tickets. We heard so many great things about it but we were tired and wanted to go back to Downtown Disney.

It is key to purchase Genie passes and get to the parks right when they open. We didn’t even need to use our Genie passes until after lunch! We also even had time to go back and do our favorite rides again later in the evening.

We stayed at a Disneyland property, The Grand Californian. It was so awesome and the location was amazing. It is in the middle of the parks and from the time we left our room, it was only about 10 minutes until we were in the parks. You walk out of the hotel and are right at Downtown Disney with tons of restaurants and shops! Then just outside Downtown Disney are the entrances to either of the parks.

We enjoyed all the fun food at Disneyland with my favorite being the Minnie Mouse chocolate caramel apple. So yummy! I am ready to go back tomorrow, haha! Disney never loses its magic no matter how old you are. Look out for my third and final LA blog post.

xoxo, Joanna
