Hey, y’all! Here is my February book review! I read How to Win Friends and Influence People for Teen Girls presented by Donna Dale Carnegie. This book is based on the classic How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie, as a revised and edited edition steered toward teen girls. It is filled with so many fantastic lessons teaching young women to build lifelong friendships and become inspiring leaders. In addition to the text, there are excerpts from girls across the country on their personal experiences, as well as quizzes and questionnaires to really get you thinking.
I was just browsing through the young adult fiction section of the book store when I spotted a single copy of this book that must have been misplaced. It certainly caught my eye, so I grabbed it and began reading. I love self-help books and this one had me on the first page! It covers many topics that every teenage girl encounters, while also suggesting solutions to typical issues and obstacles that often occur. It includes great advice about how to present yourself when meeting new people, and how to really connect with them when beginning a relationship. It presents so many exceptional ways to be a polite, kind, and courteous young woman while still standing for what you believe in and showing great courage and strength. The leadership tips and pointers incorporated into each chapter really capture how a teenage girl can become an admirable leader. I really enjoyed how Donna Dale Carnegie tied off the loose ends in the final chapter to summarize the key themes and ideas touched on throughout the book. I would rate this book a 5/5! It is a must-read for teen girls everywhere!
xoxo, Joanna
